The #5 Ferrari Racing Car was part of the popular racing series issued by Dinky.
The Ferrari was introduced in 1953 as model 23h in a sharp blue and yellow body colour. The driver was in white and part of the body casting.
In 1954, the model was renumbered to 234 it was eventually renumbered again to model 209 (the model number 234 continued to be displayed on the baseplate) where it was sold in a blister package with plastic hubs.
Later models of the front noise were painted in a triangle yellow, plastic and spun hubs were used.
The model numbers were clearly displayed on the baseplate with either 23h or 234.
Model #23h was issued between 1953-54 and Model #234 was issued between 1954-64 and Model 209 was issued between 1962-64.
